Well, it's that time again; time to introduce our current contest winners. Our new visionaries, Mathieu Vo-Quang and Felix Lepage, composed and produced the track called "Superheroes" which you can listen to by clicking on the logo to the right.

Among our contests submissions was this one mp3 file which stood out of the chaos of jpegs, gifs, and other image files we had received. Though it's distinction in terms of file type did not come to play in our final decision we did find that it merited a spot on this page and the recognition that that would bring it. Despite the unfortunate fact that this track may not sound very good on the average computer speakers, on higher quality hardware it begins to reach the depths of your soul. Using an assortment of great samples, a wicked breakbeat, a variety of different tempos, and incorporating two distinctly unique themes this drum and bass track has all the makings of a product worthy of being among Artifex's list of visionaries. Our hats off to this dynamic duo and their track aptly called "Superheroes".

Words from the Artists:

Am I a visionary?
We are all visionaries. It depends on the concepts you use to create your world. I imagine it as being a huge, endless mix of sounds. The sun, a snare hit. Fire, the pounding of a kick drum. Water, a smooth sample or harmony flowing in and out and around, playing with all other sounds. Anything can have an effect on everything else. A butterfly flapping its wings can cause a hurricane on the other side of the world. That is music. It can change your life.

We are currently working on a drum and bass hiphop fusion thing without the lyrics. Will it work out? I don't know. We'll see.

Felix Lepage is from Vancouver, BC
Mathieu Vo-Quang is from Montreal, Qc
