| Trademarks The first step any company can take towards improving or creating their image comes with their corporate identity. So many companies start off on the wrong foot by settling for a less than flattering identity. Do not make that mistake. Your corporate identity, which consists mainly of your logo must present your company in the finest light possible without misleading the public or projecting an inaccurate image. This is extremely important. A good logo flows from the company, it seems to epitomize the product or service the company sells, it must reflect the company's philosophy. A well conceived logo will be more flexible and versatile, and will more aesthetically complement various layouts. The better the logo the easier it is to design websites, printed literature, and all forms of advertisements which feature it. So keep that in mind when or if you choose to improve on your present image; the logo is the key. Branding: Branding is the process of applying your company image to physical and/or promotional items. The application of a logo on clothing or the integration of a motto or tagline into packaging is considered branding. It is in essence the application in the physical world of all the theory and psychology behind the creation, symbolism and message of the logo. Branding is an important part of maintaing and improving any given corporate image. Corporate identity: a corporate identity consists of a company logo (for use across all media), letterhead/invoice, envelopes, and business cards. Make sure all are done by the same design firm to ensure consistency and don't just choose the most attractive logo, ask the designers what they think, ask them for the psychology behind the logo, and get some more feedback before making the decision. It is an important one, make it wisely. |
